Not wanting to risk breaking (as I often do) plastic parts like the trim pieces, I patiently felt around (mostly blindly) the tailight assembly on each side and pulled the light plug away gently so it was loose and a bit more accessible. Then I was able to separate the male and female plug and followed the directions to connect the T Connector set on each side. Actually, I ran the power line first out the rubber plug below the driver side rear access panel and ran it up away from tires, moving parts and potentially hot items to the front and up through the protective plastic guard attached to the front bumper, straight up to the battery (away from the nearby fan) and connected with the provided fuse assembly and easy attachment to the positive side nut on top of the battery. A traveling work light, flashlight and masking tape at the end of the wire to see it better worked well for me laying down along the driver side. I found the wire stripping and crimping a bit tedious and not a real easy fit with the provided yellow wire. I wrapped electrical tape around it at both ends (front and rear) to make sure it stays connected. I'm just leaving the T connector wires from the driver side to the pax side loose under the carpet for now, and the flat wires with trailer plug seem not to get pinched under the rear door gasket when closed. It took a few hours, but I was really taking my time being careful and felt great not getting ripped off by overpriced greedy local installers...

I've had this unit just over 1 year.
Easy to install. Worked great until last weekend.
Now the trailer's right brake light won't go out. Used a multimeter and traced the issue to the unserviceable harness. Time to buy a new one. It just won't be this one.

Tow Bracket, hitch ball, and wiring harness all arrived separately within four days -- free shipping on a 35 pound item? Took about 35 minutes to remove the tie down bracket and install the Tow Bracket. Wiring took about another 1 1/2 hours, but I went really methodically and was able to not have to pull off all the internal plastic trip inside my hatch space - I could carefully pull up enough below where my turn signals were to run the cable under the threshold trip to the other side. It was a bit tight to work my hand in to disconnect the turn signals and then reconnect to the adapters, but I managed to make my hands fit. On the right turn signal I had to make a cut in one of the adapter plugs to allow a bit more extra wire to be available as the connector was too tight to snap into place without doing that. Would recommend watching one of the many "How To" videos online. Would recommend this for anyone, and even having to purchase all three items (wiring kit, bracket, and net hitch ball), the whole project cost less than $200 and took about 2 hours, using standard tools most people already own. Way less than the $750 being quoted by the dealership! Have towed a 19 foot boat twice so far without any problems.
